Asthma Sign And Symptom

Dear Friend, Asthma can be mild to serious and everything in between. Just as the level of asthma attack varies so do any asthma sign and symptom that you might experience.

What is the most common asthma sign and symptom you experience when you are about to have an asthma attack? Do you become short of breath? Feel like you are being choked? Have a hard time breathing? Do you cough uncontrollably? Perhaps you wheeze?

Each person will have a different asthma sign and symptom that they learn to know as the warning that an asthma attack is coming on. If you learn to understand and listen to your body this gives you the chance to deal with an attack before it becomes serious or even life threatening.

Even though you may have only one asthma sign and symptom that alerts you about the attack that is about to happen, there are actually many things going on. Your airways are becoming inflamed and are excreting mucus. This is causing the airways to become clogged and you may be coughing or short of breath at the onset.

The most common asthma sign and symptom is not being able to breathe properly. That’s because by now the airways are being restricted and you can no longer cough to excrete the mucus.

A common mistake is thinking that the asthma sign and symptom will occur immediately before the attack. In actual fact it can occur days earlier and take quite some time to build up. This is especially true with those that suffer with mild to moderate asthma.

For those that suffer more serious attacks the asthma sign and symptom can be quick and lethal. The airways suddenly become restricted turning the skin blue and leaving you unable to talk. If you are not quick to take your medication you can find yourself in a medical emergency because you will actually suffocate.

Just as with allergies the asthma sign and symptom that is memorable for you will likely be different than for someone else. This is a personal experience and what’s important is not what the asthma sign and symptom is but that you recognize it.
